A native of Macon, MS and a resident of Plaquemine, she passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. She was 87 and a homemaker. Visiting at Grand River United Methodist Church on Tuesday June 19, 2012 from 10 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. Kemper Smith and assisted by Rev. Earline Guidry. Interment in Grace Memorial Park. Survivors include loving sisters-inlaw and brother-in-law; her nieces, Jacalyn "Tootsie" Hunter Fell, Harvey, La; Diana Hunter Sanchez, Marrero, La; Lana Stevens, Baldwin, La and Nancy Cantrell, Berwick, La; nephews, Donald Curry, Plaquemine; Clint Hunter, Waggaman, La; Joey Cantrell, Berwick, La; David Cantrell, Centerville, La and Andrew Hunter, Denver, CO; numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins as well as great-great nieces and nephews and three great-great great-nieces. Preceded in death by husband, Ira Frank Lamp, Jr.; parents, Jeneice Hope and Dora Alma Gilmore Hunter; sisters, Bertha Helen Curry and Alma Margie Cantrell; brothers, Ernest Eugene, Jeniece Douglas and Ronde Wyatt Hunter. She loved baking, fishing, Elvis and never forgot her extended family's birthdays. She was a Christian and faithful member of Grand River United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Grand River United Methodist Church.
