A retired operator from Georgia Gulf Corp. he passed away Saturday, Feb 16, 2013 at the Butterfly Wing in Baton Rouge at 2:40 p.m. surrounded by his family, at the age of 61. Greg was a native and resident of Plaquemine. Visiting will be Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m., again on Wednesday from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Cleo Milano. Interment in Grace Memorial Park to follow. Greg is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ferol Lambert Rome and immediate family, Ginnie Rome, Lambert Rome, Carl Landry and Juan Fernandez; granddaughter, Victoria Rome; mother, Hazel Seneca Rome and his siblings, Clarence Rome Jr. and wife Sandy Landry Rome and Tana Kay Rome Comeaux and husband Jimmy Comeaux. His brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lambert and wife Christine, Freddie Lambert and wife Nancy, and Johnny Lambert and wife Linda. Nieces and nephews, Jessi Falcon Whaley, Clay Falcon, Brooke Falcon, Korey Rome, Alex Rome, Brittany Comeaux Bello, Blair Comeaux, Bryn Comeaux, Jessie Lambert, Jamie Lambert Prest, Sandy Lambert St. Romain, Lisa Lambert James, Scott Steib, Summer Steib, Jim Lambert, Jeremy Lambert and Stevie Lambert. He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Rome Sr.; sister, Susan Rome Merrick; in-laws, Lewis and Doris Lambert, brother-in-law, Stephen Lambert. Pallbearers will be Lambert Rome, Korey Rome, Cameron Whaley, Larry Falcon, Clay Falcon, Paul Shaw, Clarence Rome Jr. and Jimmy Comeaux.
